Description

There is a bug in DVB Subtitles in recording (or in playing back?).

In current SVN (8575, and at least 500 releases back) when you make a DVB-T recording and afterwards playback it, the user interface might, or might not offer you to select subtitles.

I'm almost sure this problem is related in the moment when the recording starts:

If there is subtitling in the transmission in the very moment when the recording starts, there is no problem to see them when playing back the recording.

But, if the subtitling starts lets say a few minutes after the start of the recording, you can't get subtitling - not during the whole movie when playing back. The "Select subtitles" just doen't apper into the OSD menu.

At least YLE (broadcaster in Finland) doesn't keep the subtitling "on" all the time - they switch it on when necessary.

To make it clear: This issue is not related in "teletext subtitles" or "closed captioning", but IS related in the 'real' DVB-subtitles.

The only DVB subtitle stream I have works...

Can you provide mythfrontend logs with '-v playback' to start?

I'm assuming you are using the menu to select a subtitle, is that correct?

My pleasure! I attack two log-clips, which both shoulds have subtitles, but only the other one does actually ahve them.

Don't know any other way than hit 'M' when watching, and so on?

These are not the logs needed. I need a log from playing back a recording which starts without subtitles, and then has subtitles later on. Once there are subtitles in the recording you should attempt to select them via the menu.

What I need to see is what happens when the PMT changes so that there are subtitles.

Also please attach logs don't inline them into the ticket text, it is difficult to read the ticket text when logs are inlined.

The both logs i sent actually are logs when playing back a recordings, which both were transmitted with subtitles (verified it by a digital STB), but only the second one lets me to "select subtitles". The logs were made by "mythfrontend -l log1" and "mythfrontend -l log2".

But if you like to exactly tell how to log relevant things, i will do it. (And next time i'll use some other browser than FF, as it eplodes when attaching files in to track).
