Same for me in north of France in all 3 1080i/1080p h264 channels (TF1 HD, France2 HD and M6 HD). For example on TF1-HD mythtv frontend see 2 audio tracks one is AC3 2 channels, and the other is "reserved for futur use") for this 2 tracks the sound is like you plug a speaker in a digital output.

For a temporary solution, eventuelly look here : http://mythtv-fr.tuxfamily.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=915

Basically, since 1st of june 2009, the HD multiplex for TF1, FR2 and M6 send E-AC3, with extensions not supported in the current FFMPEG and as such, also unsupported in the current MythTV's FFMPEG. The FFMPEG patch surely won't be accepted for now. But at least it works for me, so I've made a temporary patch for FFMPEG (SVN from 20090620) and also one for MythTV SVN 20710, which is the one I use for now. And it works until now. Like I said in this thread in MythTV-FR, this is a temporary solution, as it comes with some problems. For example, I was forced to remove both AC3 and DTS passthrough as my receiver doesn't understand E-AC3, and it seems like when these options are activated, MythTV passes E-AC3 directly to the receiver. So I have decoded sound now. The patches is there : ftp://ftp.ookaze.fr/pub/mythtv/mythtv-eac3_spectral.patch

Also, these new channels include two sound streams most of the time, and I don't remember if we can select which one to choose by channel in MythTV, but it causes problems, as sometimes, we have one MPEG2 2 ch and one AC3 0 ch (meaning no sound at all), and unfortunately MythTV always chooses the AC3 0 ch one, which means no sound unless manually selected everytime.
