OpenGL LiveTV freezes when leaving LiveTV

Reported by: davehw Owned by:
Priority: minor Milestone: unknown
Component: MythTV - General Version: 0.24-fixes
Severity: medium Keywords: opengl, livetv
Cc: Ticket locked: yes

Description

With ffmpeg+opengl selected in the playback profile, and ThemePainter?=Qt, LiveTV works, but when exiting the TV image freezes on screen. Menus still actually work in the background, but I can not see them. Leaving MythTV frontend with ESC clears the frozen image after a few seconds.

With ThemePainter?=opengl LiveTV exits OK. but configuration menus do not display (and TV is stuttery, but I expect another setting would fix that).

Same problem here with vaapi and/or opengl.

With an ATI 4550 and newest Catalyst driver.

Debian Squeeze prebuilt packages and a self compiled one

Best regards

Tiggez,

Please read the ticket howto: http://code.mythtv.org/trac/wiki/TicketHowTo

Me too does not help us solve these problems *at all*. Also, MythTV does not support VA-API at this time, so any comments made about code that is not actually included in MythTV are irrelevant.

See also #9882, which the reporter suspects is a duplicate of this.

I think we can assume that this is a driver bug if the behaviour can't be reproduced with hardware and drivers from other manufacturers. If it can be demonstrated otherwise we can re-open the ticket, but our resident OpenGL expert has left the project and therefore this isn't going to receive any attention.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
