matroska playback problems after commit 27316

My main BE+FE, running opensuse 11.2 x86_64, with vdpau and nvidia drivers 256.53, with digital audio passthrough, is having video playback problems after 27316 (27315 is the last commit without this problem).

I can play other mkv files (and avi files aren't affected at all) but after I try to play a specific set of files - without success - I cannot longer play any other mkv file. I have to restart the frontend to play them.

Another similar frontend (with analog sound if it makes any difference) doesn't exhibit the problem. Neither does a non-vdpau laptop.

I will attach the frontend log with -v playback,audio of the affected frontend. The last video is the problem one. After that, no other mkv will play unless I restart the frontend.
